Putting the science of learning to work with Compassion, Confidence and Collaboration

  1. Onsite Coaching - Developing animal training & problem-solving skills with least intrusive, most effective strategies.
  2. Remote Training - Regularly scheduled meeting to review 1 minute training sessions for developing animal training and problem-solving skills.
  3. Team Building - Giving and receiving feedback, building and maintaining team relationships including developing interpersonal problem-solving skills.
  4. Webinars on principles and practices of science-based training and engineering engaging environments (enrichment).
  5. Onsight Culture Building and Sustainability.
  6. Ongoing support of animal care staff and adjacent leadership (e.g., veterinary).

In 2020, with 45 years in the learning and behavior field, I decided to pursue one of my long-distance goals, that is, to leave a legacy. The hope is that when I do decide to live the life of leisure on a pink sand beach somewhere (no time soon), Behavior Works will continue to contribute to socially significant behavior solutions and positive behavioral outcomes. To this end, I have joyfully added some of the best experts in our field to the Behavior Works team. I welcome Dr. Christy Alligood-Rice who is teaching "How Research Works," Lori Stevens who is teaching "How Movement Works," and four excellent zoo consulting partners, Rick Hester, Bianca Papadopoulos, Amy Schilz, and Megan Sanders. You can find their resumes here.

I am truly privileged to have this team working with Behavior Works.
